Chelmer Nook

November 2017

With open plan living and plenty of natural light flooding the home, this area tucked under the stairs needed a little attention.  The young family needed to make every little space in their home work for them and were completely over this area being a dumping ground for bags, shoes, clothes and everything in between.

The staircase was located directly adjacent to the kitchen, separated by a thoroughfare leading to the open plan living.  This nook beneath the stairs would be the perfect place to watch over their young children doing homework and reading as well as do the family admin on the laptop.

The result here was a clutter-free, practical space open to the household to carry out all these necessary, daily activities as well as being aesthetically pleasing on the eye.  Instead of rushing out and purchasing the new items straight away, the family have utilised their own pieces in the short term with a view to purchase new items in the future.
